Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Qatar visits SMF

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Qatar visits SMF

22 February 2018 – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Qatar to Singapore, His Excellency Abdulla Ibrahim Abdulrahman S. Al-Hamar, paid a courtesy visit to Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF). Both SMF President Mr Douglas Foo and SMF Council member Mr Saw Ken Wye warmly received His Excellency on his visit to understand the role of SMF and the local manufacturing industry.

They identified the similarities between both countries; even though both states are small, they have worked hard to be globally relevant. As both states are strong advocates of free trade, the free-trade zones in Qatar were brought up and how Qatar is affected by the current Qatar-Gulf crisis.

Singapore and Qatar has established strong diplomatic ties since 1984. They have concluded 28 agreements, which promotes trade and investment flows between both countries.
