Costa Rica Ambassador visits SMF President
23 February 2018 – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Embassy of the Republic of Costa Rica to Singapore, Her Excellency Iris Manzanares Murillo paid a courtesy visit to Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF) and its President to explore opportunities for collaborations.
SMF President, Mr Douglas Foo hosted Her Excellency and her delegation at the SMF building. Praising Singapore as a well-run country with many efficient systems in place, Her Excellency discussed extensively with Mr Foo on possible business opportunities with the local companies. She also extended an invitation to SMF to lead a business delegation to Costa Rica.
Costa Rica and Singapore have maintained diplomatic ties since the 1980s. After the establishment of the embassy in 2007, the bilateral ties between both countries strengthened and they signed a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) in 2010.
